On Saturday Cesar Galindo showcased his upcoming S/S 2026 collection. This show meant a lot to me, as Cesar is a fellow Houstonian and held the first fashion show I ever attended earlier this year. Last time I went as an intern, this time around I came as press and it made all the difference. With over 35 years in the industry, and experience at storied brands like Calvin Klein and L.A.M.B., he draws on a wealth of knowledge to present a collection that sparked audible reactions. Complete with a gorgeous venue and assertive art direction, Cesar pulled zero punches with this collection. I like all of his past work, but this collection takes the cake.

While Cesar is a designer of clothing, he also hangs his hat on pattern making. Back when I was interning he took me through a tour of his workshop, which just so happens to be located in the same building as his studio. In this collection and past works, his patterns accompanied by his striking silhouettes culminate into a lineup of outfits you can't look away from. It's difficult to pinpoint an exact theme for this collection and I kind of like it that way. The clothes and the energy of the show brought a cohesion that spoke for itself. Unintentionally creating an unidentifiable theme that's unique to Cesar as a designer. What can't be disputed is how dynamic the patterns are in this collection. Cesar left the buyer the gift of choice and the curse of indecision.

Familiarity with Cesar is knowing he loves making head pieces. For this collection he created a halo of flowers and a curvy crystalized head piece that sparkles with every move. They stand as a subtle statement for any outfit in the collection. When I look at this particular look I'm reminded of late '80s patterns and sihlouttes. The length of the blazer married with its sturdy structure makes for an outfit that's just as self assured as the person wearing it.

In luxury fashion the word quality has become a buzzword. Quality is over used in reference to fashion construction. Quality should never be a selling point if you ask me, it should be a given. Attention to detail in design and form should be highlighted. How the clothing makes you feel. People need to start looking at clothing similarly to paintings. Does it speak to you? What feeling does it evoke? This collection by Cesar Galindo literally had the audience cheering for the outfits. That's impact, that's identifying well rounded design.

This collection is full of life. When everyone took their seat and the models took the runway, the energy shifted. The room transformed from a venue to a pleasant floral landscape. Cesar with his dynamic patterns and graceful silhouettes captivated the audience from start to finish with this collection. Most of the outfits presented gave you the idea that they came from the depths of his mind for fashion.

Pictured above is one of my favorite outfits from the collection. The blouse is so light it almost hovers over the model. The exaggerated flare of the sleeves lends a touch of grace to a piece as delicate as it is demanding. Plus, how could I forget the floral pattern that pulls it altogether? I could lie and say this look is head and shoulders above the others, but this collection runs deep with detail oriented designs just as good as this look.

The Cesar Galindo SS26 Collection is worthy of its praise by myself and everyone who had the privilege to witness it first hand. I want to thank Cesar for sharing some knowledge with me when I was an interning. I'm more than happy to run Dozer now, but I've taken everything I've learned along the way to continue growth.
